7th Annual Overdose Awareness Vigil
6:30pm start – to dark
Lyman Point Park-171 Bridge Street
Over 20 local resources will table around the Park

About: This event began 7 years ago to remember people who have passed due
to an overdose, show the human side of substance use disorder, give
families a place to empathetically connect and grieve with others who have
experience a similar loss, hear their loved one’s name with dignity and
care, with community resources tabled around the park.

Donations: We are looking for a couple of businesses to sponsor this event
by purchasing water bottles for the attendees. If you would like to support
this effort, please email me (emilyz@hccvt.org) your donation will be tax
deductible.

Reading of names: If you have lost someone to OD and you would like the
name of your loved one placed on the list to be read that evening – please
email me (emilyz@hccvt.org). You can include any amount of the following
info to be read: First Name, Last Name, Age at passing, Town, State.
If your loved one didn’t live in Hartford, that’s ok, if you are standing
in Hartford on August 31st, you deserve to hear your loved one’s name and
can decide if you want to list a town/state. Once your loved one’s name is
on the list, it will forever remain on the list.
