SUMMARY:An Uncommon Look at Common Loons
DESCRIPTION:Common Loon Presentation in Lyme\nIan Clark shares his documentation of loons for almost a decade!\nFrom the Lyme Conservation Commission’s ListServ post: \nThe common loon is one northern New England’s iconic animal species. No view of a New Hampshire or Vermont woodland pond or lake is complete without a loon or two in it. \nFor nearly a decade\, wildlife photographer and Newbury\, VT resident Ian Clark has been documenting the lives of common loons. Each season from spring to fall\, Ian captures the daily activities of common loons parents as they raise their families\, share their space with other pond denizens\, like beaver and moose\, and defend their homes against unwanted intruders like bald eagles or territory seeking loons. All of this is captured against the scenic backdrop of woodland ponds. \nYou can experience this beauty\, drama and action for yourselves when Ian brings his celebrated talk “An Uncommon Look at Common Loons” to the Lyme School cafeteria on Thursday\, May 30 beginning at 7:00 pm. \nIt will be an entertaining\, informative and visually pleasing evening. \nAdmission is free. \nFor an advance look at Ian’s considerable artistic skill\, follow this link to his Blog: https://blog.ianclark.com/blog/ \nScroll down past Ian’s delightful montage on fox kits\, to find a few photos of some familiar Lyme residents setting out Post Pond’s floating loom platform a couple of weeks ago. \nCo-sponsored by the Lyme Conservation Commission and Friends of Post Pond.
