SUMMARY:WRJ First Friday – WRIF video installations and more
DESCRIPTION:Light River Junction: “Toons and Tones”\nWho’s ready for a White River Junction First Friday reboot? \nFirst Friday\, May 7th\, the White River Indie Film crew are bringing back the joy of Light River Junction! If you missed it in December\, you’re in for a treat. \n\nThroughout the downtown\, you’ll find a series of video installations projected on to WRJ buildings as you stroll around to our village’s wonderful restaurants\, bars and shops. \n\nWeather permitting\, we’ll put a bunch of sale racks behind Revolution for another mini-mega-pop-up-sale. \n\nRain or shine\, Scavenger celebrates their 9th year with jewelry discounts and an opening reception for works by Heidi Smith Bagley titled ‘Will You Stay Long Enough to See Me?’. \n\nWRJ’s dining options are back and better than ever with eat-in and take-out from some of the Upper Valley’s best eateries including Piecemeal Pies\, which will be open ’til 8pm on First Friday with pies and cider treats. \n\nWe’re thrilled to welcome Nancy The Girl to WRJ business district! Nancy is hosting an open house on First Friday for folks to get a sneak peek at her glamorous vintage showroom in the Tip Top building. \n\nIf you haven’t checked out the new art space\, Tourist\, at 89 South Main Street\, be sure to drop in for the opening reception of Salt featuring works by Shaina Gates. \n\nBe sure to stroll down South Main Street to the new location of Gear Again. Bridget’s pilot of an outdoor gear consignment shop was a success\, so they’re settling into their permanent location in the old Twin State Typewriter building. \n\nThe (timeless) trend of WRJ businesses specializing in reuse\, upcycled\, antique\, used & vintage merchandise is worth noting. We walk the talk of this creative economy with a brilliant mix of sustainable and thoughtful commerce which is far from ‘business as usual’. Please continue to support these efforts and come see for yourself what it is that’s so special about White River Junction\, Vermont! \n\nPlease also remember that\, while vaccines are flowing\, the need for masks and social distancing is still necessary. If you are out and about during First Friday festivities\, be mindful of capacity limitations for each business. There are plenty of locations to spread out in and we are all looking forward to welcoming you back to our spaces.

SUMMARY:Christmas Market with a Difference
DESCRIPTION:*CHRISTMAS MARKET WITH A DIFFERENCE*\nFAIR TRADE CRAFTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD\n \n\n\nThursday\, November 7: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.\nFriday\, November 8: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.\nSaturday\, November 9:  10 a.m. – 2 p.m.\n \nChurch of Christ at Dartmouth College (UCC)\n40 College Street\nHanover\, NH \n\nCome shop this annual holiday market featuring beautiful\, hand-crafted treasures from more than twenty nonprofit fair trade and charitable organizations around the country and around the world.  The “difference” between this and other holiday markets is that this is not a fundraiser for our church; all proceeds are returned to the artisans and crafts people who produced the items\, either directly\, or through sponsoring organizations and fair trade groups. \nYou’ll find apparel\, accessories\, jewelry\, home decor\, textiles\, table linens\, baskets\, children’s clothing and toys\, holiday ornaments and decorations\, greeting and note cards\, bath and body products\, specialty foods\, and much more. \n\n\n\nYour purchases will support women’s cooperatives\, schools\, orphanages\, job training and life skills programs\, environmental conservation and sustainability initiatives\, and more— from right here in the Upper Valley to as far away as Nepal and Zimbabwe.  This year\, we also have several opportunities to contribute to organizations supporting immigrants\, refugees\, and asylum-seekers in the Upper Valley and beyond. \nAnd\, if all that shopping makes you hungry\, delicious soups and baked goods are for sale in the Christmas Market Café. \nParking Info— There is limited parking for mobility-impaired shoppers in the church parking lot.  On Thursday and Friday (Nov. 7 & 8)\, there is free parking in the “permits only” section of Dartmouth’s G-Lot\, the far end of the Dewey Lot at the end of Dewey Field Road— a 5-10 minute walk to the church.  Please note that parking is not permitted in the green\, “visitor parking” section of G-Lot; so please park in the spaces marked in white.  A church shuttle van will run from the Dewey/G-Lot bus shelter to the church every 15 minutes.  On Saturday\, the Maynard and Dewey lots are also available for parking. \n\n\nFor more information about this event\, including information about participating organizations and some of the products available\, visit us on Facebook or our website:\n \nhttps://www.facebook.com/ChristmasMarketWithADifference/\n\n\nhttp://www.ccdcucc.org/organizations.html
