SUMMARY:LGBTQ+ Advance Care Planning
DESCRIPTION:LGBTQ+ Advance Care Planning\nWhy & How to plan ahead\n\nAdvance care planning is preparing for your future healthcare and life decisions. It is the ongoing process of making your wishes and values known to your providers and caregivers. Although thinking about end-of-life may be difficult\, doing the work of Advance Care Planning before a crisis or health change occurs is a gift to yourself and your loved ones. If you do not make your preferences known\, your providers and loved ones are left to make tough decisions without knowing what you’d really want. That hole in communication could result in extended intensive treatments or more limits on your care. \nClick HERE for more information\n \nAging Resource Center\n \n\n \n \n\nLGBTQ+ Advance Care Planning PDF Hosted by ARC

SUMMARY:Virtual: Living Healthy by Eating Healthy
DESCRIPTION:Virtual: Living Healthy by Eating Healthy\nEating for Healthy Blood\n\nLeader: Jean Copeland\, RDN\, LD \nAnemia is a problem of not having enough healthy red blood cells or hemoglobin to carry oxygen to the body’s tissues. While Anemia can be due to several causes\, anemia due to nutritional causes is the topic of this program. Hemoglobin is a protein found in red cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to all other organs in the body. Having anemia can cause tiredness\, weakness and shortness of breath. Anemia is associated with a higher incidence of cardiovascular disease\, cognitive impairment\, decreased physical performance and quality of life\, and increased risk of falls and fractures. Also\, the presence of anemia is associated with longer hospital stays and an increased risk of mortality related to cardiovascular disease. \nClick HERE for more information and to register \nAging Resource Center
