DESCRIPTION:Business Meeting & Presentation\nReplete with fun items for sale\, free refreshments\, and community chatter!\n\nAfter a quick bit of business\, Lyme local\, Stephen Alden\, will give a talk and demonstration of LIDAR.\nLIDAR\, which stands for Light Detection and Ranging\, is a remote sensing method that uses light in the form of a pulsed laser to measure ranges (variable distances) to the Earth. Lidar is a way to “see” stone walls and cellar holes through the forest canopy.\n\nIn his talk\, entitled Lidar – Shedding Light on New Hampshire’s (and Lyme’s) Past\, Stephen will share lidar images from all around the state that tell an amazing story and reveal much about New Hampshire’s geologic as well as cultural history. This is an amazing opportunity to see how this technology works and what it can show you about the land around you.\n\n\nMembership information (including renewals) will also be available.

Our first step is to cover the garden plot with cardboard and straw to kill the grasses and unwanted plants. \nPlease bring gloves and energy. \nIf you have a truck and would be willing to pick up cardboard to bring to Chaffee \, please meet at the Horsesheds in Lyme at 8:30am. \nWe hope you will join us for this event.  The garden is not all that big\, but we hope it will be powerful in educating our community about the beauty and importance of creating pollinator habitat in our community.

Angie collaborates with NAMI NH in expanding the reach of NAMI NH’s Connect Program as a Connect Suicide Prevention and Postvention trainer. Angie has been deeply involved in training school staff\, clinicians\, EMS providers\, law enforcement and others to identify and respond to suicide risk. Angie co-leads Dartmouth Health’s Suicide Prevention & Response Committee whose goals are to increase the health system’s capacity to implement best practices in suicide prevention\, intervention and treatment helping Dartmouth Health prepare to align with the Zero Suicide Framework. She is an Upper Valley native living in Lebanon with her husband Kevin\, daughter’s Kaelyn age 11\, Emalie age 8 and three dogs\, Petal\, Bear & Pink.  \nTerri Lavely MS\, QMHP has been employed at Desginated Mental Health agency since 2004\, supporting the mental health needs of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont in a variety of different roles.  As Co-chair of her agencies Zero Suicide team\, she is active supporting training around awareness\, prevention and postvension. Some certification around suicide supports and programing included QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional)\, QPR (Question\, Persuade\, Refer) Trainer\, CAMs Care (Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality)\, and C-SSRS (Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale).  She is a active member of The Vermont Suicide Prevention Coalition\, VT’s 9-8-8 Coalition and serves on many steering committees locally\, state wide and nationally. \nTerri is also an active volunteer with the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention (AFSP)\, serving as Vermont Chapter Board Chair\, Newport Out of the Darkness Walk Chair\, Field Advocate\, Project 2025 Champion and trainer to deliver AFSP programming. \nAl Carbonneau has worked for Headrest for over 20yrs now. He has managed Headrest’s Crisis Call Center since 2020. Al is on the NH Suicide Prevention Council and the Survivor of Suicide Loss subcommittee. Al also facilitates a Survivor of Suicide Loss support group at Headrest. \nThe Evening’s Host and Emcee:\nLaurie Veillette\, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical health psychologist and team lead for the CommunityCare of Lyme mental health team.

Think of it as our own special museum of local artists!  And the bonus – you can buy your favorite piece of art\, large or small to fit your wall!  Hours on this holiday Saturday are 10 – 3 pm. \nNeed an extra perennial or two for your flower garden?  Or some vegetable starts?  The Utility Club is having a Plant and Bake Sale from 8:30 – 12 noon at the Historians Home.  Home baked cookies\, pies\, breads\, cakes and more will be available.  Each item comes with a promise that we won’t tell your family you didn’t bake it yourself! \nEver wonder about the history of Lyme and all the artifacts collected from years gone by?  Entry is free at the Historians Home  – ask your questions and be awed by all that has happened in this small village on the Connecticut River since the 1760’s.  Open from 9 to 12 noon. \nYou are invited to stroll the spring gardens and relax in the Adirondack chairs at the Lyme Inn.  After you have had an “eyeful”\, enjoy a “mouthful” at Ariana’s!  Opens for dinner at 5pm.  \nListen to the music at The Lyme Country Store.  A pop up Farmers Market brings local goodness to the store and\, there is no better taste on a hot day then a cone of soft serve ice cream – your choice of flavors and size. \nLyme has its own second hand store called the Bargain Barn located next to the horse sheds.  This season’s opening is scheduled for Sat\, June 3\, but for the curious early birds\, there will be table at the Historians Home with a variety of items for sale.  Check it out from 8:30 – noon!
