Leaders: Daniel Emanuele, Senior Vice President, Manager, of Private Banking at Mascoma Bank, and Pete Begin, Vice President, Senior Security & Fraud Officer

Financial scams take on many forms and scammers are introducing more sophisticated strategies for their scams all the time. Anyone can be targeted, at any income level, but some scammers also utilize strategies specifically focusing on older adults. Being aware of the common types and how to avoid them, and how to identify suspicious communication, is key to protecting yourself.

Daniel Emanuele, and Pete Begin, will discuss scams, their potential impact, how to avoid them, and when and what to report to a bank or law enforcement.

This program is presented as part of Elder Abuse Awareness Month.
