Join us to visit and learn more about local pollinator gardens and conservation efforts!

Here is the itinerary from the Utility Club:

Stop 1:  Chaffee Preserve

9:45 am – Optional work crew (bring your gardening gloves) for 15 minutes helping pull the weeds that have breached our cardboard

10:00am – we will talk about our Pollinator Garden Project and be joined by Blake Allison and other members of the Conservation Commission to tell us about the Chaffee Preserve including its history and assets, and to talk about the new accessible trail that is being built this summer

Stop 2: UVLT Preserve at Lyme Hill

10:45 am – we will be joined byJason Berard who will introduce us to the UVLT pollinator garden, and how it fits within the UVLT mission

Stop 3: Kilton Library, 80 Main Street West Lebanon

11:45 am – we will be joined by Alicia Houk who will talk to us about the pollinator garden at the Lebanon Library; after

Stop 4: Coburn Park, 51 North Park Street

12:15 pm – We will stop to see one of the Pollinator Gardens that make up the Pollinator Corrider of the Mascoma River Greenway and I will tell you a little about this project

Stop 5:  Eldridge Park 20 Spencer St. Lebanon

12:30 pm – we will meet at the Pavilion at Eldridge park to enjoy our bagged lunches (there are some picnic tables, but it would be good to bring a chair), and I will talk about the Pollinator Pathway Program as well as what Lebanon is doing with their Pollinator Corrider.

1:00 pm – we will be joined by Russel Hirschler and Paul Coates who will talk to us about the Mascoma River Greenway Project – a very impressive greenway development in an urban(ish) setting.  

After the talk, those who want to can visit some of the other pollinator gardens in the area (I will have. Maps) several of which are easily walkable.
